Helmer Strik wins CLS Small Research Grant

Helmer Strik has been awarded a CLS Small Research Grant. With this grant, we will expand the mini-game on Dutch idiomatic expressions that Games for Health developed with input from Catia Cucchiarini, Ferdy Hubers, Michel Gerritse and the muZIEum. An enriched version of the game will be created that employs Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) to allow spoken interaction. The game will be exhibited in the muZIEum and in due time the extended version will also be made available to blind and visually impaired children for educational purposes. The game may also be extended in other ways, e.g. with other aspects of language and for other target groups.
